Two people were shot dead Friday in front of a Minnesota College arena during a secondary school diploma, police announced.
The incident took place around 8:20 p.m. local time outside 3m Arena in Mariucci on the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota, while the graduation ceremony of Wayzata Secondary School took place, the campus police service said in a press release.

The condition and identity of the two victims were not immediately known on Saturday afternoon.
The police arrested a suspect but did not immediately identified them or did not provide more details on a possible reason.
“The authorities do not believe that there is a continuous threat to the region,” said Minnesota University of the University of the University in a statement.
Governor Tim Walz responded to the X shooting, calling the “horrible” incident.
“A period of celebration that should never have become one of fear and sadness,” wrote Walz. “Our thoughts go to all those who are affected by this insane act of violence,” he wrote.
