3rd woman arrested for allegedly helped in prisoners from New Orleans at the Faspe still in general

A Slidell woman was arrested and accused of having helped a fugitive who is still at the freedom to capture Massive Jailbreak in New Orleans, the state of Louisiana announced.

Connie Weeden, 59, was placed in police custody in Slidell and sentenced Thursday to the correctional center of the parish of St. Tammany. In addition to prison employees, she is the third person arrested for helping the prisoners escaped from Orleans Justice Center.

Weeden faces an accusation of crime of accessories after the fact for having pretended to help Jermaine Donald, one of the five escapees still on the run.

“Weeden was in contact by phone before and after the escape,” LSP officials said in a statement. “The investigators determined that after the escape, she provided Donald with money via a mobile phone application.”

Donald remains in freedom, as well as four other people who broke out from Orleans Justice Center on May 16. The authorities took up five of the 10 originals that escaped.

The law enforcement officials warned that helping fugitives have serious consequences. “Those who choose to help or hide these people violate the law and will be held responsible,” said state police. “The hosted fugitives threaten the security of our communities and will not be tolerated.”

Under Louisiana’s law, a conviction for accessory afterwards supports a penalty of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $ 500, or both.

The LSP announced Wednesday that Cortnie Harris, 32, and Corvanntay Baptiste, 38, were arrested and accused of accessory crimes afterwards. They were both reserved for the Platemines parish detention center, officials said.

Earlier Thursday, the prosecutor of the parish of the parish of Orleans published assignments to the sheriff of the parish of Orleans Susan Hutson and other members of the staff of the OPSO in the context of an ongoing investigation into the escape of detainees.

The prescription requested access to emails, text messages, internal messages, Hutson and other employees and entrepreneurs from the OPSO, including those of Sterling Williams, the prison interview who was arrested as part of the jailbreak.

Williams, a 33 -year -old maintenance agent at Orleans Parish Justice Center, was arrested and reserved in prison on Tuesday morning, according to the Attorney General of Louisiana, Liz Murrill.

Williams would have closed water in toilet to help open the way for prisoners to escape, sources said. The prisoners, including three who are accused of second degree murder and who remain on the run, were able to go out after having torn the toilets of his hinges.

Four other prison employees were suspended in this investigation.
