New York City helicopter crash: the authorities are looking for answers after 6 killed

An investigation is underway in the helicopter crash that killed six people – the pilot and a family of Spanish tourists – when the profession plunged into the Hudson river in New York on Thursday.
The recovery teams began to lift the wreck in the river during the night.
The director of Siemens, Agustin Escobar, his wife, Merce Camprubi Montal, and their children – aged 4, 8 and 10 – were identified as victims of the accident.
They were killed one day before the 8 -year birthday, according to the mayor of New York, Eric Adams.
He was also killed, the 36 -year -old pilot said sources of law application in ABC News. The pilot has not yet been publicly identified.

The CHOPPER – which was operated by the New York Helicopter Tours Company – fell into the Hudson river between Lower Manhattan and Hoboken, New Jersey, Thursday afternoon, a little more than 15 minutes after his departure from the Wall Street heliport.
“We are devastated,” said a company representative at ABC News. “My staff has not stopped crying.”
The helicopter – identified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a Bell 206 helicopter – was on its sixth flight of the day. It was found upside down in the water at 50 degrees when the rescuers arrived at the scene, which was closer to the side of the New Jersey of the Hudson River, according to sources.

The video of the accident showed the plunging chopper in the water without a tail rotor or a main rotor blade. Officials said he had struck inverted water.
New York police commissioner Jessica Tisch told journalists four victims had been declared dead on the scene. Later, two others died of their injuries, she said.

Jersey City Medical Center, where the passengers were transported after the accident, were as hard as possible to save the injured, said the mayor of Jersey City, Steven Fulop, ABC News.
Fulop said the city had already had concerns about air traffic on the Hudson and hoped that it draws more attention to their security problems.
President Donald Trump described the “terrible” crash on social networks and said that the accident images were “horrible”.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said in an X article that the news was an “unimaginable tragedy”.
Dani Horbiak told ABC News that she had watched the helicopter “fall from the sky” from the window of her apartment.
“I heard five or six noisy noises that almost looked like shots in the sky and I saw pieces fall, then I watched it fall into the river,” she said.
“I passed and the helicopter came down to an angle of 45 degrees,” said Eric Campoverde to ABC News. “Big Splash – It was very scary.”
“It looked like a sound boom,” said a witness to New York ABC Station Wabc. He said he had seen “the helicopter separating in two with the rotor flying”.
Another witness told Wabc: “A propeller broke into pieces.”
