After 40 years on the run, he escaped the prisoner of Puerto Rico taken in Florida

A man who escaped a Puerto Rican prison almost 40 years ago was arrested in Florida, according to the Sheriff’s Bureau of Lee.

Jorge Milla-Valdes escaped from a Puerto Rican prison in 1987. The Porto Rico Ministry of Justice thought that he lived under the name of Luis Aguirre.

Its criminal history included an aggravated flight and battery with a fatal weapon in the county of Monroe in Florida, according to the Sheriff’s office.

The unity of the Fugitive LCSO mandates looked for Milla-Valdes and obtained the original fingerprints of Puerto Rico from 1986, and a set of its criminal history in the county of Monroe.

“The supervisor of latent fingerprints, Tina Carver, accelerated the comparison of fingerprints. 15 minutes later – and using fingerprints that were taken over 40 years ago – the Carver Supervisor was able to correspond to the prints and confirm that Aguirre and Milla -Valdes were the same individual who had escaped,” said the Sherif office.

The fugitive unit was informed of the match and Milla-Valdes was arrested two hours later in FT. Myers Shores, according to the Sheriff’s office.
