President Johnson is trying to protect Megabill’s fate of Trump-Musk Crossfire

President Mike Johnson strives to keep the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” on Friday while all eyes remain on President Donald Trump and Elon Musk in the middle of their bitter public quarrel.
Johnson pushes the bill adopted by the Chamber which advances the legislative program of Trump, which is being negotiated in the Senate. Musk publicly criticized the bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” and encouraging members of the congress to “kill the bill”.
Musk’s criticisms reached a boiling point Thursday – ending with an explosive ship between the president and the technological billionaire. Trump told ABC News on Friday morning that Musk had “lost his head”.
Johnson was once one of Musk’s most powerful boosters on Capitol Hill. Johnson met Musk several times and would even speak to him by phone by phone. Musk even addressed a meeting of the House Republicans in March.
Questioned by ABC News if it was a mistake to trust Musk, Johnson rejected the question and paid attention to the bill.

“I’m not going to get involved in this area.
Johnson reiterated on Friday that he had a job to do – and it is not a question of getting involved in the musk -top quarrel. However, Johnson joined online battle on Thursday, responding to a post criticizing the speaker.
Several other republicans in the chamber weigh on the dispute and if the influence and strong opinions of Musk on the megabill could influence its passage.
“I think that Elon has probably changed the trajectory of this bill two or three days ago when he spoke because people trust the guy who can land more upside down,” said Republican representative Thomas Massie. Massie was one of the two Republicans of the Chamber who opposed the bill when the Chamber voted last month.

The GOP representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene, ranked on the side of Trump and Musk on different aspects of the bill – favoring Musk on the Prize. She said that in the end, she thinks that the accent should be put on the passage of Trump’s agenda.
“I do not think that the unleashing on the Internet is the way to manage any type of disagreement, especially when you have mobile phones of the other,” Greene told journalists on Friday. “I hope it takes place, but I will tell you immediately that people will focus on ensuring them that we get the agenda for which we voted.”
The republican representative Troy Nehls, an ally of Trump, the fervent, called at the end of the tablecloth between the president and the musk, saying “enough it is quite”.
Despite the musks who collide publicly at the head of their party – even seeking to suggest that the room should dismiss the president – some Republicans have not put their best towards the bad mouth of the billionaire.
“Elon Musk can use his funds as he judges him well,” said Republican representative Ralph Norman when he was asked if Musk was the primary republicans. “Again, he is a patriot and if he does not agree, I really respect honesty.”
Republican representative Warren Davidson called for unity.
“I just hope that the people who hold me a lot to get along, that they repair, that they distribute their relationship,” he said. “It’s disappointing to see them dispute in public in this way.”
The head of the room minority, Hakeem Jeffries, capitalized on the confrontation, calling it “welcome development”.
“Insofar as this week’s developments will make it more likely that we can kill the GOP tax scam, this is a welcome development,” he said.
