Strong 6.9 Treverat of magnitude reported near the Papua-Nouvelle-Guinea

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.9 struck near the Papua New Guinea on Saturday morning, the local time, according to US Geological Survey.
The earthquake was centered 194 km south-east of Kimbe, the capital of the province of New Britain in western New Britain, according to US Geological Survey.
Several replicas, including a 5.3 magnitude earthquake followed, according to data from US Geological Survey.
The earthquake has prompted the American tsunami warning center to issue a Tsunami warning for the insular nation of the Pacific, saying: “Dangerous tsunami waves are provided for certain ribs.”
Tsunami’s threat alert has since been canceled.
