The newly published audio reveals that the memory of Joe Biden lost during the investigation in 2023

A newly released audio clip seems to show that former President Joe Biden has trouble recalling the dates of key events in his life, including the death of his beautiful son.

The audio clip, provided for the first time in Axios, comes from the investigation of former special lawyer Robert Hur on the processing by Biden of classified documents after leaving the vice-president and took place in the days which followed the attack of Hamas against Israel in October 2023.

In clips released by AxiosBiden stops several times and seems to fight when he tells various details, including the years he has spent as vice-president, when President Donald Trump officially took office and when his late son died.

Biden sat for more than five hours with Hur, who provided his 345 -page report to the Ministry of Justice, who released him shortly after February 2024. Administration Biden provided the Biden interview with Congress a month later, who released him.

Axios only published a small extract from this from the audio they obtained.

“Transcriptions were published by Biden Administration over a year ago. Audio is only confirmed what is already public,” said Biden spokesperson Kelly Scully in a statement at ABC News.

The Biden administration resisted the publication of the audio recording itself, by Biden invoking the executive privilege. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland was held in the Congress by Les Républicains de la Chambre for his refusal to release audio.

As ABC News previously reported, the Trump administration was about to publish the entire audio, rejecting the arguments made by Biden administration officials according to which the disclosure of these evidence from a closed criminal survey could prevent future high -level subjects from providing similar cooperation to investigators.

The press release comes from books that revealed relationships on how Biden and his inner circle would have sought to protect the aspects of his decreasing mental capacities during his presidency.

ABC News did not independently obtain audio. A White House spokesperson only referred ABC to the Axios clips. It is not immediately known how Axios obtained the audio from a closed criminal investigation.

The Trump administration separated the efforts from surveillance groups and media organizations to publish the report of former special lawyer Jack Smith on Trump processing classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021, which led to Trump’s charge of 40 criminal charges relating to his alleged poor national defense information and obstructions.
