The Vatican has published the first photo of Pope Francis since his hospitalization

The Vatican press office published a photo of Pope Francis on Sunday in a private chapel of the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where it continues to receive treatment.

The photo shows the 88 -year -old pontiff sitting in his wheelchair in front of an altar.

This is the Pope’s first published photo since he entered the hospital on February 14 and received a diagnosis of bilateral pneumonia.

The photo was taken in the private chapel of the Pope’s 10 floors apartment in Gemelli, according to the Holy See, the Vatican press office.

The Vatican press office said the Pope had no visitors on Sunday.

The Pope continued with respiratory and engine physiotherapy and took advantage of it, “according to the Vatican.

The Pope also “did a little work” on Sunday, according to the Vatican.

Sunday marked the 31st day that the Pope was at the hospital.

The Vatican press office had previously published an audio recording of the Pope made on March 6, broadcast that day at the start of the rosary which was held in Saint-Pierre square.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health from the place, I accompany you from here. May God bless you and the Virgin protects you. Thank you,” said the Pope in the recorded declaration made in Spanish.
