Trump expected to appoint Kash Patel as ATF interim director

President Donald Trump is expected to appoint the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, as an actor in the alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives, said familiar sources with the ABC News affair .

An official of the Ministry of Justice told ABC News that Patel should be sworn as an acting director at the start of next week.

The White House did not respond to a request for comments.

This decision comes after the Atfi Pam Bondi prosecutor dismissed the ATF lawyer General Pamela Hicks at the end of last week. Bondi said on Friday, said in an interview with Fox News that it was because the agency’s main lawyer “was targeting firearms owners”.

ABC News contacted Hicks to comment.

The ATF, which is responsible for regulating sales and recordings of firearms in the United States, has long been a target of the Republicans on what they support is the encroachment of the government on the rights of the second amendment.

Earlier this month, Trump published an executive decree asking Bondi to examine the actions to resolve the right to keep and carry arms and present a plan in the White House after 30 days. In one of its first service notes signed after its confirmation, Bondi asked the ATF to move the resources of its alcohol and tobacco weapons to help the efforts of the Doj to fight against illegal immigration and the transnational criminal groups.
