Trump rates live: WH Advisor says that the trade agreement is close to 10 countries

As President Donald Trump said the exemptions placed on smartphones, computers and other electronics will be temporary, his best economic advisor, Kevin Hassett, doubled at Rachel Scott from ABC News that everything will be covered.
When asked if there would be exemptions on any electronics, Hassett said that “what we are talking about is coverage. And therefore what will be covered? And almost everything will be covered. The question is, which law applies.”
Hassett also said that the Trump administrator was about to finalize a trade agreement with more than 10 countries.

The director of the National Economic Council of the United States, Kevin Hassett, answers a question from the information media during a briefing outside the west wing of the White House in Washington, on April 14, 2025.

“I think we have more than 10 offers where there are very, very good and incredible offers made in the United States that the USTR Jameson Greer and Howard Lunick trade representative and the rest of our sales team and the president are implementing if these offers are good enough,” said Hassett on Monday.
As the Trump administration should soon make an announcement, it now weighs if it will announce transactions in a package or individually by country.
“The president will decide when he is satisfied with the agreement and when he wants to announce it, and how much at the same time. But I can tell you that the progress has been amazing,” said Hassett.
