Wingtip of one plane strikes another on the traffic lane at Reagan Airport: FAA

The Wingtip of an American airplane Airlines struck another American Airlines plane on a taxi route at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
No one was injured, said Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. The two planes returned to the doors and airport operations were not affected, said the agency.
Representative Nick Lalota, RN.Y., tweeted that his plane was “stationary on the track” when another plane “hit our wing”.
“Fortunately, everyone is fine!” He added.
“We were hit on our right – it was a strong sound,” Lalota told ABC News Live.
He said when he had looked out the window, he saw the wing tremble.
“The plane trembled violently,” said Josh Gottheimer, DN.J., another member of the flight congress, told ABC News Live. “It was quite clear that we were struck.”
“The pilot came and told us that we did not go anywhere, except at the door. We then waited about 45 minutes before we could move,” said Gottheimer.
He called the unacceptable incident.
“The key is now to ensure that we make, from the point of view of surveillance, everything that is possible to ensure that the FAA takes the appropriate measures, not only to investigate what happened, but in the future to protect all our airports,” he said.

“It’s not time to cut the FAA[‘s jobs] When they already underestimate, “he said, calling him” deeply worrying “.
The representative Grace Meng, DN.Y., who was also on the flight, agreed with Gottheimer, writing on social networks, “I am grateful that no one was injured today, but this incident highlights this urgent need to restore all the jobs of the FAA which keep our tracks in security.”
The airline said that “the damage was limited to a winglet on each plane” and that the planes “were put out of service to inspect”.
“Security is our top priority and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” added the airline.
The theft of representatives was heading for JFK International Airport in New York. The other plane was heading for Charleston, in South Carolina.
The FAA said it was investigating.
Reagan has been under control since January, when an American Airlines plane and an army helicopter collided near the airport, killing everyone on the two planes.
