An employee of the hospital fell a colleague several times in Troy, Michigan, in the building of the building Thursday in a “targeted attack”, according to police.
The employee was hit twice in his arm when the suspect fired a handgun five times outside the Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital Troy, according to Lieutenant Ben Hancock of the Troy Police Service. The victim’s vehicle was also hit, said Hancock.
The victim – a 25 year old man from Troy – is alive and in a stable state.

The suspect was arrested after fled the premises, police said. Officials did not reveal the identity of the suspect.
The police responded to the shooting Thursday around 7 a.m., the local time, the suspect was arrested a few hours later.
“A victim is in the emergency department for medical treatment. Patients with planned services should not come to hospital at present. Patients can call the service where they were to be planned directly,” Corewell Health said in a statement to ABC News.

The hospital was immediately put on the locking “by abundance of prudence,” said Corewell Health. He is now taking over normal operations, police said.
